In recent years, France has seen a sharp acceleration in the development of renewable energies, driven in particular by the rise of self-consumption and the growth of electric mobility. These two technologies are closely linked: one enables the production of local, carbon-free energy, while the other relies on it to power electric vehicles and reduce travel-related emissions.
At a time when the regulatory framework is changing rapidly and the feed-in tariff for photovoltaic electricity has fallen to just €0.04/kWh, every solar installation owner has an incentive to maximise the value of their solar production. Self-consumption is therefore becoming a strategic priority.
TETRADIS is fully committed to this approach, developing a practical solution that intelligently combines solar power generation and electric vehicle charging. With TetraSun Charge, TETRADIS significantly increases self-consumption rates while facilitating the transition to sustainable mobility.
A reflection based on two types of expertise possessed by TETRADIS
This development is based on cross-disciplinary expertise in two areas in which TETRADIS has extensive experience: electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI), thanks to strong partnerships with KEBA and WELLBORNE, and photovoltaic solutions. Since 2020, TETRADIS teams have been supporting installers with innovative, packaged solutions such as photovoltaic shade structures, self-consumption kits, autonomous boxes and hybrid terminals.The TetraSun Charge solution
Aware of current energy challenges, our design office has developed TetraSun Charge, a simplified solution for coupling solar energy production with electric vehicle charging. It allows each user to customise their installation according to their specific needs. With TetraSun Charge, you can produce, consume and optimise solar energy. This technology allows the energy produced by solar panels to be routed directly to the charging station according to defined parameters such as available power or time of day. A programmable weekly schedule allows you to create charging scenarios tailored to the site's uses (residential, commercial or industrial), while reducing the amount of excess energy fed back into the grid.A smart solution...
Comprising a fully equipped box, the TetraSun Charge collects solar production data and automatically controls charging according to the defined parameters. Three charging modes are available: ECO for 100% solar charging, BOOST for fast charging regardless of production, and NORMAL to balance solar energy and the grid. Thanks to an intuitive interface and a customisable scenario calendar, users can plan their charging according to solar production peaks and their needs.
Universal and quick to implement!
Compatible with all photovoltaic installations on the market, TetraSun Charge can be easily integrated into residential and professional environments, from 1 to several dozen charging stations. The solution has proven compatibility with Keba and Wellborne charging station brands and can be extended to any communicating charging station.


TetraSun Charge, the IRVE-Solar combination: what are its uses ?
The TetraSun Charge solution is suitable for two main types of use: residential and commercial. For residential use
In a residential setting, the solution allows individuals to schedule the charging of their electric vehicles during off-peak hours and periods of high solar production, thereby maximising their self-consumption and reducing their electricity bills. The app provided allows each user to automate their charging for smart use of solar energy.
For collective and tertiary use
In tertiary or industrial environments, needs are more complex and constraints more varied. Do you need to power a service or functional fleet? Are there regular availability requirements, or peaks in consumption linked to the site's activity? Our technical teams will help you analyse these issues to identify areas for optimisation. With TetraSun Charge, it is possible to smooth out consumption by favouring solar charging during periods of high production or low energy demand – for example, during lunch breaks or weekends. The integrated monitoring tool allows managers to view production, consumption and charging flows in real time in order to optimise overall energy use.

Use case for a local authority
As part of a project carried out for a local authority with a fleet of electric vehicles and a rooftop photovoltaic installation, the TetraSun Charge solution was deployed. Thanks to around 40 smart charging stations interfaced with the solar system and controlled according to customised charging scenarios (days, times, weather), the solution maximises self-consumption, ensures vehicle availability and smooths out consumption peaks linked to offices and industrial activities. The result: better energy management, lower operating costs and a concrete contribution to the local authority's decarbonisation strategy.
